+18 Tipping etiquette

Went to cash a $200 ticket at my local corner store and was pressured into “tipping” the clerk 5-10% to cash it. I understand sometimes tipping the person who actually sells you the winning ticket but I was bringing this one in from another store. Am I in the wrong here or are they overstepping asking for a tip just for cashing a ticket?

Edit: Thanks all. I didn’t give him a percentage and I’m glad I didn’t based on the comments here.

+27 @CaseyBullfrog Wtf hahah that is absurd

+27 @NightOwlGangRiseUp Nah that's some ridiculous shit.

+25 @Affectionate-Roof615 Should report this to your state lottery. This is illegal behavior.

+21 @Professional_Step280 It was 200 and not 200 million... They were wrong for even asking for anything. Pretty good side hustle for them . If they do that to every customer who brings in a winner no matter how much it is. I would avoid that store all together in the future.

+16 @qutgnt25 Tell them here's a tip. Asking for tips is a good way to get your lottery license revoked.. no charge

+13 @NebulaFox93 You don't owe them anything they're just trying to get lucky and just hoping you feel sympathetic/guilty about not tipping.
