What Would You do if You WON?
By TheLiteralAnchor+61 Mega millions would’ve been better off adding an extra drawing day
I’m not going to pretend like I know anything about what goes into doing a lotto drawing behind the scenes. But mega millions is currently on its longest stretch EVER without a jackpot winner (last one was at the end of June), and it’s only at $900m. Compare that to powerball, which is already at $490m after a record-setting $1.8B win at the beginning of September.
Obviously a lot of us think the increase to $5 was a mistake. But i legitimately don’t understand why MM didn’t add a third drawing day at the $2 price point. They’d probably sell so many more, especially when the jackets got high and people were buying new tickets every 2 days.
EDIT: just to clarify, the idea here would be that MM stays $2. And there would be 3 drawings a week at $2 per ticket. I don’t think any of the lotteries should cost $5, and it’s clearly hurting their business

+17 @survivorfan95 It’s not the extra drawing that’s lacking, it’s the $5 play that drives everyone away. I guess they did differentiate themselves because there is no world in which I will ever play MM anymore.
+13 @zZxXHoldenXxZz I'm also surprised they didn't take this path, it clearly worked for PB. Still can't beleive they thought people would want to play at $5.
