+12 Just noticed this sub is mostly scratch-offs. Any reason why?

I have been researching lottery data lately and realized that almost every post here is a scratcher, not Powerball or Mega Millions.

Is there a particular reason why draw games don't get much love here?
Would love to know why the community seems to favor the physical scratch-offs over the big multi state draws.

+31 @AZBaldy What exactly do you want people to post with regards to Powerball and Mega Millions? There is a reason that jackpots roll for up to and longer than 6 months. No one is winning anything worth discussing. At best you get 2-3 jackpot winners per year and I don’t expect them to log onto Reddit.

+16 @mahleg Scratchers make for better posts is my guess, most of the time you can see how it was won and what the prize is in one pic. Also they’re instant, you don’t have to wait for the drawing to happen you can just scratch at the counter or your car or during lunch at your desk and post it here soon after. Aside from Powerball and Mega Millions every state has different draw games so you’d have to post a screenshot or receipt of the ticket scan for those wins. When the jackpots are really high I’m sure there will be more posts for them though.

+13 @realtips365 Scratchers generally have a 1 in 3 (33.33%) chance of breaking even. So if you buy a book of $20 scratchers, it’s $600 and you’re generally going to get at least $200 of your money back. Whereas with draw games, you could spend $1,000 and only get back $50. The odds are much worse on draw games.
