What Would You do if You WON?
By ExtremelyBiPolar
+35 Everyone says they wouldn’t immediately quit their job if they won millions, I’m finding a hard time believing this

So, I’ve been reading a lot about winning the lottery, many people claim they wouldn’t immediately quit their jobs. Do you really believe this? Would you? I’d like to hear some scenarios. Let’s chat!

+20 @Lifeguard-Both If you work in a place where immediately quitting would fuck over many of the coworkers who you've grown to consider friends, you'd put in a two week notice so that there can be a smooth transition. This is what I would do, as after working the same job for like 2 years, I really do consider many of my coworkers to be my friends. Or if you work as something like a doctor or a lawyer, and you quitting immediately would be horrible for the people that NEED you, you'd wait until you can leave without screwing anyone over. Or if you work doing something that you actually legitimately love doing and it doesn't feel like work to you. Or if you're at a certain age or life situation where you're worried that If you suddenly have nothing to do, the lack of structure/routine in your life would be harmful to your overall health or life. I'm in the first case, I call many of my coworkers friends, I know that if I just ghosted the job, all of their jobs would be instantly 3x as hard, and I wouldn't wanna burn the bridges with them. But if I won, I'd be putting my two weeks notice in right away.

+11 @TheHonPhilipBanks Massive lotto numbers come out and your town is cited as the location of the winner and your move is to quit the next day? Most people say they won't quit immediately so they can keep the fact they won a secret.
