What Would You do if You WON?
By redhotmess77+52 Do I need a lawyer?
Today was the release of the new ticket in Indiana. My husband scratched 100,000$ it was the symbol. He took his ticket to the lottery office and it scanned for 20. and there were around 7 other people with the same ticket with claimers. They were 2500 and 5000. They took the ticket made a copy of it. They gave the copy to my husband and told him they were pulling the ticket and doing an investigation and we would be contacted by mail in a month or so. This seems crazy and wrong. He won the money. Shouldn't he get the money? Do we need a lawyer?

+35 @Capable_Culture_7344 Dang that sucks. I'm no lawyer but I bet they will say: sorry any misprint results in an invalid ticket. I hope I am wrong and you get the money, but I would expect a refund
+20 @dplans455 If it's wrong they should pay it then pull the entire game. To deny the win then continue to sell the tickets to other players somehow seems illegal or at the very least morally and ethically wrong. If they can say a win is invalid, who is to say what losers are also invalid and actually winners? Not everyone scans the tickets they scratch. Maybe some tickets are misprinted where they are winners but the pictures show losers? I feel like the integrity of lottery all over the place is going downhill the last five years.
