What Would You do if You WON?
By Bruno_7000+44 What is your honest opinion on the Powerball expanding to the UK
Personally I think it’s an insult to Americans and American lotto players, because the PB is supposed to be an AMERICAN play, not an international play. This will cause hysteria and rage among Americans because many will have that mindset where…. “Oh, someone in the UK will probably win”…. and it will get even crazier when the PB hits 1 billion or 2 billion, and I have strong doubts that the next billion dollar jackpot will probably end up in the UK and not the U.S,… just think about it for a second….half of that billion dollar jackpot is AMERICAN money ie.. YOUR MONEY…that will probably end up in the hands of a Brit..8,000 miles away across the atlantic ocean. That is freaking INSANE.

+35 @CloudAppropriate1570 Here’s the craziest part, the UK does NOT tax lottery winnings. So if someone wins 500 million or a billion dollars in the UK, they will literally get ALL that money TAX FREE. That is the real insult to Americans, where at the end of the day they will wish they were British lol. Although I play mostly scratchers, I also don’t like they idea of expanding overseas. EDIT: I just looked at the UK lotto stats, they have an average of 2 million players per draw every week for EuroMillions, whereas in the U.S it’s an average of 300-500K players per draw, whether it’s PB or Mega. So yeah, they have way more players up there then here, and we are a country of 320 million, UK is 68 million. So let’s not be surprised if more PB winners are in the UK.
+15 @BriarMint I didn't even hear about this. Why not just make a PB game specifically for UK and keep the American version as is here? Weird
+11 @Wasabee11 Powerball just wants to expand their brand because people in the U.S aren’t playing lotto in the millions like they did years ago. Their best solution was involving the UK market, which is stupid because if they made a historical change like bringing down prices to 1$, or even 50 cents per play, and have at least two winners a months, they would have massive revenue in the millions. I’m not buying the whole “to have bigger jackpots”. It’s horse crap, it’s the revenue they are seeking.
