so maybe this is common knowledge with regular players, but it’s news to me lmao

so, I’ve been playing a certain game for while now and regularly check the remaining prizes section on my local lottery’s website (updated weekly) to see if any of the big winners are gone. This past month it’s been more and more difficult to find the tickets, retailers saying theyre sold out, and ive just been accepting it like okay, tickets are selling out and none of the prizes are in my area then. Yet week after week, every time I check the site none of the big prizes have been won/claimed.

today I asked a gas station clerk about it and they showed me a notice that there was a recall on the tickets a couple weeks ago and that they’re not allowed to be sold anymore, and if the retailers don’t return the unsold tickets the retailers would be charged for them.
