+16 Mega Millions Price Change: Success or Failure?

How would you classify the current state of Mega Millions? I don't know if anyone has more up-to-date data, but the data I saw was that ticket sales are down 30% since the price increase. But since the price increase was 150%, overall dollar intake is up. And crucially, profit is most likely the most important metric for the lottery.

But none of their promises about the price increase have held. The jackpots seem to increase at the same rate as Powerball, if not slower. We haven't come anywhere close to those "super jackpots" they promised.

So how would you construe the current state of Mega Millions, success or failure? Do you think they'll stick with their current model?

+15 @AZBaldy If their goal was to piss off their players and create the most boring and uninspiring lottery jackpot game then it was a resounding success! I haven't bought a single ticket since they made the switch in April.
